Summer 2019 - Hazelfern Cellars

Living a well-balanced life is the constant juggling of personal and professional ambitions and passions.

Last week, Manifesto was proud to partner with Hazelfern Cellars to create another Table for Ten experience centered around exploring what it means to live a well-balanced life and how to be mindful of the purpose that drives the work we do and the lives we lead.

And while we can’t anticipate and plan for everything that comes our way, we can decide how we choose to approach adversity, uncertainty and trials.

Seated around an 18-foot farm table, guests shared humbling, honest and heartfelt stories through the lens of the moments, people and things that help them maintain balance throughout their lives. What began as a table of ten strangers transformed into a community of trusted confidants that allowed for a magical evening of vulnerability and candor.

Surprisingly, the outcome of these intimate stories reminded us that there is no such thing as a well-balanced life and much like Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs with Self Actualization at the top of a proverbial pyramid, balance is something that we are constantly striving to achieve. If you’ve achieved balance in its purest form, you’re likely one step away from being unbalanced, yet again. Like walking an elevated tightrope over a vast expanse, it’s only the movement and the constant momentum that keeps the balancing act in place.

Scott Dolich and the Stone Soup team created a farm-to-table four-course meal, serving up a range of dishes from smashed peas & mint crostini, grilled broccoli & feta salad and farrotto with morels to a rosemary & rhubarb roast pork loin. A hearty rhubarb shortcake rounded out the springtime culinary experience.

As always, a special thanks to Hazelfern Cellars for their hospitality and beautiful vineyard, and to our partners, Scott Dolich and Christian Rudman, for helping us create another inspiring and authentic Table for Ten.
